- Khan meets martyred Maj Ali Salman’s family
- Imran expresses confidence in Army’s capabilities which is battling terrorism with great courage and valour

LAHORE, August 22: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday termed Asif Ali Zardari’s acquittal in the illegal asset case as a proof of the deal struck in the garb of Charter of Democracy (CoD) by the PPP and PML-N. Imran Khan said that a ‘deal’ was cut between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) over appointment of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman and that PML-N had multiple opportunities to better the state of the country. Imran Khan said the PTI candidate Dr Yasmin Rahid was not going to contest against Begum Kulsoom Nawaz but the state.
Imran Khan addressed a press conference in the provincial capital on Sunday and said that NA-120 by-polls are the test case for Pakistani people. Imran Khan slammed Inspector-General Punjab for not taking any action when PTI’s female workers were allegedly pushed by PML-N representatives in the constituency.
“Safeguarding the lives of people is the responsibility of IG Punjab,” he said. “If the IG doesn’t do his job properly, we will drag him through the courts,” he added. Imran said we will take action against the IGP.
The elections in the constituency would decide whether the country would ‘change’ or ‘dacoits’ rule’ would continue.
Strongly condemning the former president’s acquittal in NAB cases, Khan called upon the nation to raise voice against it. He said Zardari owns property worth billions of rupees abroad. He said the Surrey Palace of Zardari was present abroad and there were $60 million present in Swiss bank. He said NAB is saying it has found nothing, adding that the whole nation should raise voice over the issue. – Sabah/Agencies
