- Says we did not agree with the Supreme Court verdict but respect this verdict
DERA BUGTI, September 14: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that the time is not far away when Balochistan will be the richest province of Pakistan. He said the problems of Balochistan will be resolved in next few years. Prime minister said we did not agree with the Supreme Court verdict but respect this verdict. He said prime minister left the government the government within minutes of the 28th July verdict and implanted the court verdict. He said that after four days new government was formed and no unrest was seen in the country over the verdict, which is the victory of the democracy. He said that when there is unrest in the country the process of progress stops. Prime minister said the annoyed Baloch people should come back and should take part in the progress of the province.
Prime Minister inaugurated Kachhi Canal project in Dera Bugti District of Balochistan on Thursday. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, he said the masses will make decision after June next year after completion of the tenure of the current government, adding that the people will make decision whether they want progress of country or not. He said the performance of the all parties is in front of masses and PML-N is the only party which has resolved the problems of the people. He said many governments were formed in the country, adding that these governments only secured votes and just issued statements. He said PML-N is the only party which talks less and works practically and resolves the problems of the people. He said PML-N speaks less and works more and others speak more and work less.
He said the project was launched by former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in 1998 but due to ignorance of previous governments, it could not be completed on time. He said Nawaz Sharif should have been present here today as the project was launched by him.
The Prime Minister said the project was completed at a cost of 80 billion rupees, and it will change destiny of the people of Dera Bugti. He said the issue of water and gas faced by the people of Sui and Dera Bugti will be resolved on priority basis. “This project is a symbol of love between two provinces,” Abbasi added, explaining that the 300-kilometre canal runs from Punjab and provides water to Balochistan. “[Former PM] Nawaz Sharif should have been here today. This [canal] is his project,” Abbasi said as he criticised the PPP for not developing the project during its tenure.
“A lot of governments have come, but they only made empty promises to secure their votes. The PML-N does not make false promises; it solves the problems people in the country are facing.” – PR
