The references made by the NAB against some members of Sharif family are quite weak, legally speaking, and odds are that they would be thrown out of the court in a very little time. According to law experts the Prosecution has intentionally kept so much loopholes in them that they won’t be able to stand the test of scrutiny in the courts which would be left with no option but to give the benefit of the doubt to the accused and acquit them in due course.
The same drama would be repeated which was staged while corruption cases were being pursued half- heartedly against Zardari in the not- too- distant past and which at the end of the day resulted in his acquittal.
It goes without saying that application of law in this country varies from person to person. It is different for the rich and poor,for the exploiter and the exploited and for common man and the persons belonging to the elite. The age old adage that might is right is in full play in this country .
The Almighty destroys the nations and countries where different yardsticks are applied in the society in the dispensation of justice. Make no mistake about it.
