Gullu Butt spread panic during the Dharna time and broke some windows of the cars, even though he was commissioned by the government and had police protecting him while he went on his rampage, Gullu butt received 11 years in prison to cause this commotion.
Sounds a bit harsh? Well its not, anyone not following the law and order of a state should be punished, that is the only way of keeping peace. But if I rephrase that question to, sounds harsh for Pakistan? I would say it is ABSURD.
In a country, where someone who has been involved in tax fraud, and corruption is provided amnesty by law, in a country where assets of the nation and people are sold and stolen in broad day light and no one really can do anything about it. In such a country a man getting 11 years for breaking windows is absurd.
I remember when the government endorsed issuing arrest warrants for the opposition leaders marking them as terrorists. It is the same Pakistan where a man who is a British Citizen and has British passport, and is proven involved in corruption, target killing and terrorizing a city over decades, is allowed to hold press conferences and telephonic meetings that are televised all over Pakistan and also internationally. In such a country, this terrorist issues a warning telling people to stock up on food and meds because something massive is going to happen. And people go into panic.
Altaf Hussain needs a Visa to come to Pakistan, and he controls the business hub of Pakistan. How inexplicably ironic is this? and on top of this, he was waiting for the British authorities to release his passports because he was a suspect in a money laundering case. His party is solely responsible for the polarization of rangers in Sindh to counter terrorism.
I cringe in disbelief that we are a country of capable intelligent people who cannot take control of this situation. What is stopping us?if we are not willing to claim our land back from the thugs and thieves that control our lives, who will? Isn’t it our Pakistan?
….or will we surrender it to Altaf Hussain?
