– PM says civil servants have key role to play for country’s progress
ISLAMABAD, February 19: Federal government has made changes at vast level in higher bureaucracy. Syed Imran Gardezi has been appointed as Federal Secretary Information and Broadcasting.
Imran Gardezi is the most senior officer of Information Service of Pakistan. He has also served as DG in PIA, Press Attaché in Pakistani Embassies in Washington and New York, Director General Publicity Wing in Information Ministry, Press Secretary to Prime Minister and Press Information Officer (PIO).
Imran Gardezi is currently working as Director-General, Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation. He is considered an honest and hardworking officer and is seen with great respect in media circles. Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has appointed Dr. Shujaat as Special Secretary Finance; Khalid Masood as Secretary Communications, Pir Baksh Jamali as Secretary Ombudsman; Abu Akif as Secretary Climate Change; Abid Javed as Secretary Food Security and Shoaib Siddiqui as Special Secretary Interior. Hassan Iqbal has been appointed as Secretary Capital Administration and Development Division; Human Khan as Secretary Education; and Abdul Jabber as Secretary National Assembly.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said civil servants have a key role for the progress and development of the country. He was talking to officers recently promoted to grade 22 in Islamabad on Friday.
Nawaz Sharif said people have pinned great expectations with the government officials to work towards their welfare by taking timely and correct decisions. Civil servants have a key role for the progress and development of the country, PM Nawaz Sharif.
He said our aim should be rule of law and public service and for this purpose we should work as a team. The Prime Minister said transparency and merit is being ensured in the promotion of officers.
He said the performance and attitude of the officers have been set as the benchmark for promotions. Congratulating the officers on their promotions, the Prime Minister said we expect the highest level of integrity and transparency from civil servants.-Sabah
