Saad Rafique is considered to be an old hand in politics but his recent statement has shocked the sane element of the civil society that if the PML (N) government was brought down we would also not allow to function any other government stepping into its shoes because we are not that good people. In other words it was tit- for- tat. This statement of his, smacked of an attempt to spread anarchy in the country. It has certainly sent wrong signal to the people.Didn’t he know that the country has been going through turbulent times and our armed forces have been fighting a war for the very survival of the country as the triumvirate of US,India and Afghanistan is all out to spread terrorism and chaos in Pakistan .In these circumstances,God forbid,if any attempt was made to create anarchy in the country, would it not make the task of these three countries easier to destabilise the country? If Saad Rafique thinks in his own wisdom that the political parties opposing the ruling party are in the wrong and they have adopted a wrong approach in their campaign against the government, does he want to pay them in the same coin by adopting the same pressure tactics against them when they are in power ?Do two wrongs make a good?
No sane person disagrees with Ahsan Iqbal that sit-ins disrupt normal life but he also needs to be asked a simple question? What other option is left with the aggrieved parties if their problems are not listened to and redressed by the rulers in time and if those in the saddle adopt policies which run counter to the aspirations and sentiments of the masses? It is the rulers who are indirectly responsible for pushing the people to the wall by not giving their ear to them and by trampling over their wishes.
