sitting on the stage during a seminar in Islamabad on Monday.
ISLAMABAD (By R A Malik) Arabic is the language of holy Quran and the Prophet’s sayings. It is the most celebrated language in the human history. Because of the special potential of this language, Allah Almighty chose it to illustrate the best of sacred books. Millions of people Arabs and non Arabs believe in it and prefer it over all other languages even their native tongues. Thus , it is a source of unity and connectivity among the Arabs themselves and Arabs and non-Arabs as well as foundation of cultural and civilizational ties between Arabs and non-Arabs.
This has been stated by the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia H.E. Nawaf Bin Saeed Al-Maliki in his address at the seminar arranged by Saudi Cultural Mission on the occasion of World Arabic Language Day here on Monday.
The Kingdom attaches great importance to the Arabic language ever since it came into being. It has provided scholarships to thousand of students from around the globe at the Saudi Institutes and Universities to train teachers and preachers. The well known King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz International Centre is whole heartedly busy in one way or the other for the promotion of the language.
In Pakistan as in the rest of the world the Centre has also launched several programmes for the cause and is determined to go ahead with the same zeal in future also.
Besides, others,the Seminar was also addresed by Dr. Inamul Haq Ghazi, Dean Arabic Department, Allama Iqbal Open University, Professor Kafayatullah Hamdani of National University of Modern Languages and Professor Obaidur Rehman Mohammad Bashir of International Islamic University, Islamabad. All of them highlighted the importance of the Arabic lanuguage and also suggested the measures for its promotion to the maximum all over the world.
