ISLAMABAD, February 20: Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar says government will ensure a secure business environment to foreign investors in Pakistan.
He was talking to a delegation of Saudi oil company Aramco led by the company’s Vice Chairman Abdul Aziz M Al-Judaimi in Islamabad.
The Minister said that Pakistan offers a very attractive incentive package for foreign investors and Saudi investors must make use of it for mutual benefit of the two sides.
Abdul Aziz M Al-Judaimi said that Pakistan is not only a large market, it also provides access to other markets in the region. The delegation of Saudi oil company, Aramco, is in Pakistan to explore investment opportunities in the energy and petrochemical sectors.
Meanwhile, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting in Islamabad on Saturday to review performance of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics in the last six months.

The Minister was informed that SPI is continuously declining due to smooth supply of different commodities in the market and vigilant monitoring of prices both at federal and provincial levels. Prices of major items are stable or exhibit a declining trend.
The Minister directed PBS to ensure that all data related to inflation and other economic indicators is timely updated and wider coverage accorded to its dissemination for information of the general public. The Minister further asked that periodic surveys for ensuring data accuracy must be carried out regularly using latest available technology.Senior officials of the Ministry of Finance and PBS attended the meeting.-SABAH
