- Says Sindh government not extending Rangers’ powers to save corruption
ISLAMABAD, December 15: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Tuesday expressed grave concern over the growing anti-Islam rhetoric coming from political forces in the US and Europe.
Of these the most absurd, he said, and most ill-informed are the remarks made by US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Imran Khan felt Trump’s statements regarding Muslims and the need to keep them out of the US, not only creates a greater insecurity amongst American Muslims, but also threatens to encourage more recruitment into extremist ranks.

by election campaign in NA-154.
PTI Chief added that Trump also seemed ignorant about the fact that the US has major interests and a substantial presence in many Muslim states, all of which could suffer setbacks if his vitriole against Muslims continues.
Imran Khan also called on the US to do some introspection and assess how its War on Terror has impacted global terrorism: whether it has actually reduced or in fact increased the reach of the extremists and their acts of terrorism. Khan hoped the political leadership in the US and in Europe would help counter the growing Islamophobia in their countries rather than encouraging it with hate-filled rhetoric. While talking to media at the residence of Jahangir Tareen in Lodhran, Imran Khan has alleged Sindh government of not extending Rangers’ power in Karachi to save its corruption.
He applauded Rangers’ effort in combating criminal elements and said that Rangers have maintained law and order situation in the metropolis. He said that Sindh government is afraid of Rangers, as they can eliminate the cancer of corruption from Karachi. The PTI chief said that peace in the country can only be attained by stabilizing trade sector for which a well-developed foreign policy is required.
Responding to a question, Imran Khan reiterated that Pakistan would not compromise on Kashmir issue and said that Indo-Pak cricket series would definitely reduce tension between the both countries.
“I have met Prime Minister (PM) Modi on the invitation of Indian Embassy,” he added. Khan further said that Ayaz Sadiq’s anti-Election Commission’s statements have ensured PTI’s victory in the upcoming by-election of NA-154. On the other hand, PTI is all set to hold a massive rally in Lodhran as the stage has been adorned with party’s flags, posters and banners. The passionate PTI supporters are en route to the venue to welcome their leaders.-DNA/Agencies
