ABDULLAH MUSTAFVI

A strange trend has taken roots among few of the media quarters over a period of time that a very mediocre journalist generates a hype against state institutions as the biggest critic of this era ; at a slower pace intermittently in the start and all of a sudden comes out with a thriller act one fine morning . The criticism by such persons usually revolves around the issues being blown out of proportion against Pakistan by hostile countries and as a matter of unwritten law lacks the requisite evidence as well as logic . Thrill part of the story of there side is all about imaginary threats by unknown persons . Mature people in media world usually understand the real motive of such ambitious persons . Usually , it aims at gaining fame over a night in media world and hardly wins any attention but as said that exceptions are always there . So we have a recently explored exceptional case namely Taha Siddique who apparently made his dream true by few appearances at international media and allied forums . Well , it is not important here that what Mr Taha is up to ? as it remains his personal domain for which he has all the rights as a free man . But , what he or many of his likes , are tagging with Pakistan to fulfill their dreams pose here a problem of collective nature . A bond movie style thrilling attack by shadowy people on a self acclaimed campaigner journalist might not fetch enough attention unless it had the spice of a successful escape of our hero . Hero made it a hit by adding the pictures in which he stood fast with torn shirt , untidy collar and blood spilling from visible body parts . Bravo ! he knew the writing and fighting both . His block buster hit came in full circles at social media and got settled as usual . Wait , the circles have not yet finished . Our hero is visible at international forums presenting the script of his hit episode . Story is being narrated with the title of “ Journalist under attack – the case of Pakistan” . While having no interest in a character like Taha , one can never quit glancing at the fact that is it the real case of Pakistan ; to be presented at an international forum by a hero who is equally good in writing and fighting . Probably , hero is not good in selection of a topic to be presented at international forum or he is not good in tagging some thing to the name of his country which so far happens to be Pakistan . When some thing bad is being tagged to our country then obviously it transforms into a collective issue and remains no more restricted to the personal domain of any body .It becomes more disturbing once a self style hero appears, with his objectionable tagging business , at an international forum called “Geneva Summit on HR” and discloses his hit story . A forum about HR and appearance of a rising star from Pakistan definitely adds to curiosity which pushes for a look little deeper beneath the surface . This look out of curiosity revealed nothing good about it . Curious image of hero turns dubious! How strange is the fact that a HR forum finds no time to discuss miseries of Occupied Kashmir ! No voice raised for the blood bath of Palestinians . Not a single drop of tear for Rohingyas ! No word about frequent bombings in Afghanistan ! Are these not human rights issues ? Probably , these are not human rights issues for the forums like Geneva summit which holds the banner of 25 west sponsored organizations . People of Kashmir , Palestine , Myanmar or Afghanistan are not humans to them . This whole activism of holding international summits with the mask of HR is about projecting the west sponsored impressions against the target countries and nations . Pakistan has a strong case to plead at international forums . Country has stood firm to root out the terrorism by sacrificing precious resources in terms of men and material . Pakistan has seen the worst form of cross border terrorism sponsored by multiple regional and global players . If a forum , how big could it be , does not recognize atrocities of Kashmir , Palestine and Mayanmar it would not be considered fair , impartial and credible. Likewise a hero , how good might be in writing and fighting , would not be taken more than a puppet unless presents the real case of Pakistan . Journey of a jorno from being curious to dubious reveals a lot to the people with an eye to see a little deep beneath the surface.
