LAHORE, May 13: Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal and Jamat-e-Islami leader Sirajul Haq said on Sunday that the Minar-e-Pakistan rally has given a message that the country wants to become ‘Islamic Pakistan’ rather than ‘Naya Pakistan’, while addressing the party’s rally at the Greater Iqbal Park.
The MMA leader said that unfortunately Islamic political system was not let implemented from last 70 years, adding that the party is fighting for the imposition of Islamic system in the country.
“US agents are worried to see the unity of religious parties,” Siraj claimed.
Jamat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman will address the gathering. The MMA leaders are expected to announce the political alliance’s manifesto for the coming polls. This will be the MMA’s first gathering in Punjab. Religious-political parties announced the revival of the defunct MMA on March. The newly resurrected alliance will contest the elections under one symbol. Over thousand chairs have been set up at the rally ground along with the heavy sound system, lighting polls, banners, and flags. Strict security of the venue is being ensured by the local police authorities.-Agencies
