ISLAMABAD, May 15: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday said that ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif is trying to declare Pakistan a terrorist state.
Lashing out at Sharif, Fawad Chaudhry said that the former premier has emerged out to be witness of Indian propaganda against Pakistan.
Nawaz Sharif is demanding to form the commission when the Panama Leaks case is in final phase, he added.
On the other hand, Shah Mahmood Qureshi called for the resignation of Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the National Assembly.
“Nawaz leaves no stone unturned to malign Pakistan. What was the need for this statement? His interview became the highlight of newspaper and was then trumpeted by the Indian media. This entire situation led to an emergency meeting of National Security Committee that categorically rejected the statement of Nawaz,” Shah maintained.
He went on to say that a resolution condemning the statement was submitted in Sindh Assembly while Maulana Fazlur Rehman called for investigation. “Nawaz rejected the NSC declaration which was also supported by his own premier. The Prime Minister should now resign over the rejection,” PTI leader asserted.
Earlier, Nawaz Sharif revealed in an interview that those who attacked hotel in Mumbai in 2008 hailed from Pakistan.
He said: “Militant organisations are active. Call them non-state actors, should we allow them to cross the border and kill 150 people in Mumbai? Explain it to me. Why can’t we complete the trial?” – a reference to the Mumbai attacks-related trials which have stalled in a Rawalpindi anti-terrorism court. -DNA
