Zardari says either his party would form the next government after 2018 polls or there are going to be coalition governments in the country. Some political pundits predicts that because of Kulsoom Nawaz’s tragedy, the (N) League might get a sympathy vote as voters of this country are quite emotional people who think with their heart rather than with their brain.
The thing which worries the patriots of this country is that most of the political parties have not spelled out clearly in unambiguous terms as to how are they going to tackle myriad problems that this country face today. In their election manifestos they have adopted tongue in cheek approach. The reins of the government have been in the hands of either the PPP or Nawaz League since 2008. Ten years is a helluva time to set things right. The gap between the haves and haves-not has not been reduced during this period. On the contrary, it has increased manifold. Electricity crisis still stares the nation in the face. Water crisis is on the anvil. Corruption is the biggest issue which pork marks this country. Those who ruled us during this period don’t enjoy good reputation. They have a lot to live down. They are looked down upon by the international community as they have bought costliest prime land abroad with their ill-gotten money stacked in foreign banks.
The PTI stands a better chance to make it this time round as it is yet to be tested. Odds are that it might steal a march over other contestants to power in the forthcoming polls. Sensing this possibility its political adversaries are spending a lot of money to defame its leadership in the print and electronic media.
