It is not understandable as to why our rulers are bent upon giving relief to the owners of black money who have stacked it in foreign banks abroad by charging them just a pittance as a tax for whitening it and thus saving them from prosecution but are doing nothing to bring under the tax net those filthy rich who own billions of rupees invested by them in the built- up property, agricultural land, palatial residential houses, bank balance etc etc inside the country. According to a rough estimate about 8 billion rupees can easily be collected from them as tax within three months without any hassle as everything they own is available in documented form.
It would be an exercise in futility if the rulers who already stood tested in power are once again put in the saddle in the ensuing elections. Among the aspirants for power, Imran Khan seems to be the sole exception about whom the consensus thinking is that he needs to be given a chance for translating into reality whatever he has been promising to the people. But for that to happen he will be needing an absolute majority in parliament. If he fails to get enough seats to run the show on his own steam it would be difficult for him to deliver because his coalition partners would never allow him to implement his agenda in letter and spirit. In that case it would be better for him to sit out the government and become opposition leader, wait and try his luck in 2023 again.
But for his sustained opposition of the forces of status quo and the filthy rich rulers of this country, particularly, those who ruled the roost in this country during the past 10 years or so the corrupt element would not have been exposed before the common man.
