PESHAWAR, February 23: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa senior minister for health Shahram Tarakai while expressing his satisfaction over the pace of implementation of Medical Teaching Institutions (MTI) Act in Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) Peshawar has said that positive results of the provincial government’s health sector reform agenda have begun to be visible in HMC and a remarkable change is visible not only in the outlook of the hospital but its healthcare service delivery as well. With reforms measures fully in place, the hospital will be changed into a model one and the same model will very soon be replicated to all other tertiary care hospitals of the province.
He was talking to media persons during his visit to HMC here on Tuesday. He said that the PTI led government was the first one which is not only committed to change the decades old systems of health service delivery but is also making result-oriented measures to this end bearing very encouraging results. “The existing system of heath service delivery is a totally failed one and as such the public is fed up of it, and the credit goes to the present provincial government that for the first time in the history of the province it took the initiative to change the failed system into a vibrant and public friendly one”.. He inspected various sections and departments of the hospital and got detailed information about the services and facilities being provided therein. Chairman of the hospital BOG, Sahibzada Saeed and other high ups of the hospitals were also present on the occasion.-PR
