Govt appoints Iqbal Zafar Jhagra as new Governor KP

ISLAMABAD, February 24: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz s (PML-N) senior leader and veteran politician Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has been appointed as the new governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province. According to sources, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has dispatched a summary of his appointment to the President Mamnoon Hussain for final approval. The new appointment came after Sardar Mehtab Khan Abbasi tendered his resignation as the governor of the province earlier this month in a bid “to make his return to parliamentary politics”. Jhagra, who is senior leader of ruling PML-N, also performed his duties as a senator for six years after being elected in 1997. -NNI
