The recent threat alerts communicated to the PM by the top most intelligence agency spotlight the importance of ensuring foolproof security to him over which there should be no compromise. Our greatest enemy is the US which can go to any extent to further its political objectives in any part of the world even if it requires physical elimination of any political leader. Its track record on this count is very depressing.
In the past, the notorious American CIA used to perform this dirty work for the American governments. Lately, this function is being performed by the mercenaries. Unfortunately, the American president Donald Trump also fancies the idea of using private soldiers of fortune in those areas of the world where hitherto American regular marines are being used. Reportedly, Eric Prince, the head of the Blackwater, a mercenary company, has offered him to perform military action in Afghan war at a much cheaper expenditure than the one being incurred by the Pentagon by using American marines. The notorious Raymond Davies who was involved in the killing of a Pakistani a few years back in Pakistan belonged to the Blackwater.
Washington is obviously unhappy over the grown and growing close ties of Pakistan, China, Russia and Iran. India too is unhappy over any sort of close understanding between these countries with Pakistan . Its hatred against Pakistan is quite known to the entire world. Though the American Defence department is opposed to the idea of using Blackwater in Afghanistan it seems that the American president is happily disposed towards this idea . If Trump plumps for use of the services of Blackwater in Afghanistan, a new phase of terrorism might raise its ugly head in Pakistan also.
Imran Khan not only faces many internal problems, he has to counter foreign conspiracies also. It is, therefore, essential that extra ordinary security arrangements should always be made to protect the life of the prime minister.
