Today is the defence of Pakistan day. In the 1965 Indo-Pak war, the valiant armed forces of this country foiled the ugly designs of the Indian generals to occupy Lahore and have their evening peg of whiskey in Lahore Gymkhana Club. If any proof was required of their superiority , the armed forces of this country did provide it in the seventeen-day encounter with the forces of an enemy country which was six times bigger in size than it. The PAF established its credentials as the best airforce in the world. The valour and courage of our armed forces in Sialkot sector who repulsed a heavy tank attack of Indian armoured corps has been written with golden words in war books.
Whosoever gave the idea deserves hosannas that on the defence of Pakistan day , representatives of every segment of society should visit the houses of the martyrs of 1965 war for paying special homage to them and also let it be known to their next of kin that the nation has not forgotten them. They will be remembered until kingdom come. In point of fact, this ritual needs to be observed religiously on the defence of Pakistan day every year.
India has gone to war with Pakistan not once but thrice since 1947. It should have realised by now that despite its numerical strength it could not subdue Pakistan nor would it be able to do so in future because it is not the gun but the man behind the gun who matters. With Pakistan becoming an atomic power also India understands that in case of a nuclear war between these two countries, God forbid, even if we are annihilated from the face of the earth there will still be more than 50 Islamic countries left in the world but after the destruction of India there won’t be a single Hindu country left in the world to mourn it.
