It is a pity that many politicians who have been moving in the corridors of power since long and who are economically quite well off haven’t paid a single penny in the fund set up by the CJP and the PM for the construction of Bhasha dam in the country. It is the patriotic common man only ,who holds the cause of his country near to his heart ,has been depositing money into it in accordance with his financial status.
It is a tragedy of the first magnitude that in the not-too-distant past when the former PM Nawaz Sharif had opened a fund for collecting money to pay off the foreign debts it was also the poor man of this country who had contributed a lot to it.It is in the evidence that in those days the government in power had rather shame-facedly,written off billions of bank loans of the political elite.
Sometimes one feels that Karl Marx was not far wrong when he excoriated the capitalistic economic system in his writings.
We have seen that the capitalists ,more often than not, whenever want to scoop fat gain and make a big killing overnight, they fix a price of their manufactured goods and sell them at the same price thus making a fast buck through their unholy business alliance.Seldom do they get caught and even if they are caught and the Competition Commission fines them for creating monopoly and cartel ,they manage to get stay orders from the courts which remain in force for years together—– thanks to the legal nitpicking of the leading lawyers who are paid a fat purse by them as their legal fee.Didn’t the sugar ,cement and fertiliser barons indulge in such unholy business alliances in the near past?
