There are certain undeniable facts that need to be made forcefully and abundantly clear to those of our intellectuals, law-makers, judges and opinion-shapers who regard ‘Islam’ as optional.
Islam to all Muslims is the only reason behind them being Muslims. Islam means Allah’s prescribed constitution for all mankind as revealed and dictated to Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). This book of Revelation is called Quran the language of which is Arabic.
Reciting and practicing Quran is mandatory for all Muslims. Thus there is simply no escape from Arabic— the language preferred by Allah.
One of the reasons ‘Islam’ fell into the hands of clerics and bigots is our indifference to and estrangement from Arabic. Without knowledge of the language of Quran, one is dependent on the oratorical skills of the clerics most of whom are fond of constructing arguments through stories which can never be verified through a single credible source.
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said “Whosoever associated with me any words or statements that I have not spoken isn’t but a citizen of Hell”.
This is among the most authentic of the Holy Prophet’s sayings. It makes undeniable sense.
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) couldn’t ever have spoken a word, not in accordance with Quran.
Off course we know Allah, through the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Meaning thereby that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is as much our first love as Allah is. Both are inseparable as is indicated through KALIMAS.
But how is it possible that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) made one statement on one occasion and quite another on the other occasion.
For example he is said to have stated once that ‘If I were not made the Seal of Prophethood, and another Prophet had been needed, it would have been Umar (RA).”
And there are those too who say that the Holy Prophet said: “I alongwith Fatima, Ali, Hassan and Hussain would be the first to enter Paradise.”
As per my belief the Holy Prophet (PBUH) himself is the Promised Paradise. He has not to enter it. He is there. He is a part of it.
How could the Holy Prophet (PBUH) have been a nepotist (Naoozbillah) and forgotten to bracket with his family, Hazrat Umar, Hazrat Abu Bakr, Hazrat Usman, Hazrat Hamza, Hazrat Zaid bin Haris and the remaining ones among the TEN who were promised Paradise in their lives?”
My point it that to draw line between story-telling and Al Quran the knowledge of Arabic should be mandatory for all Muslims.
I am one of those very unlucky persons who didn’t truly study the Language of Allah in the school.
Arabic shouldn’t be optional.
It is as compulsory as Islam.
