PESHAWAR, September 27: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday approved probe against Zia-ur-Rehman-brother of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) supremo Fazal-ur-Rehman-over his appointment as Commissioner Afghan refugees.
As per details garnered, NAB chairman Justice (rtd) Javed Iqbal presided over huddle of anti-graft watchdog here in Islamabad today.
Sources privy to development stated that NAB chairman directed officials concerned to probe appointment of Zia-ur-Rehman as he does not belong to any cadre of the civil service.
Zia had served as KP Commissioner Afghan refugees for over two years. The federal cabinet had approved to strip Zia of public office. Zia was originally an employee of the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) where he served as assistant divisional engineer and subsequently was absorbed in the Provincial Civil Service on September 7, 2012.-Agencies
