ISLAMABAD, October 18: The federal cabinet reviewed the 100-day performance of the government on Thursday.
The meeting was presided over by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The prime minister sought the report of 60-day performance from all ministers.
The cabinet approved formation of an authorized committee to resolve the issues of Karachi. It also approved to start sugarcane crushing from November 15.
The meeting also approved several agreements to be inked with several countries. It also restored licences of prohibited bore.
According to sources, the federal cabinet endorsed a hike in gas tariff and other decisions taken by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC).
Members of the federal cabinet were also taken into confidence regarding the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme and the relevant ministries briefed them on acquiring land for the project as well as its economic outline.
A 10-point agenda focusing on the country’s economic and political situation was discussed during the meeting, sources further said.
The sources also said that the cabinet accorded approval for formation of a special committee to draft a new arms policy.-Agencies
