It is not understandable as to why two very important aspects which have a direct bearing on the life of the common man have escaped the attention of the rulers hitherto. First is the documentation of the country’s economy and second agricultural reforms. The only assumption which one can draw about this delay is that the ruling party probably didn’t find much time to do homework on this two vital issues.
It goes without saying that without proper documentation of the national economy the big fish cannot be brought under the tax net. Without agricultural reforms the backbone of feudalism cannot be broken.
Nobody can blame the government for not immediately implementing social welfare programmes as the governments that have been ruling the country for the last thirty years or so have bankrupted the country owing to corruption. The present rulers should, however, doubly ensure that they do not commit the same mistakes which their predecessor governments committed bringing the country close to economic disaster. Imran Khan has been working overtime in his efforts to bail out the country from the economic mess in which former rulers had landed it. He needs time and patience of the people in order to succeed.
POSTSCRIPT:Hockey and Squash are the two games that need urgent attention of he quarters concernced. Maybe enough effort has not gone into the resuscitation of these two games.
