LAHORE, November 7: There are signs that the festivals would bring about a long-awaited thaw in relations between the two neighbours as Indian and Pakistan forces exchange sweets every year on the occasion of national and religious festivals.
In a display of border bonhomie, forces of two-nuclear powers and arch-rivals, Pakistan and India, exchanged the sweets on Diwali, festival of lights, at the Wagah Border in Punjab, reported Indian media.
The Pakistani Rangers and Indian Border Security Foreces (BSF) exchanged pleasantry with each other as goodwill gesture.
Earlier, the two sides had exchanged sweets on the occasion of Eid al-Adha and India s 72nd Independence Day.
On the other hand, members of PTI-led government have also extended their wishes to Hindu community thorough twitter.
Prime Minister Imran Khan took to micro blogging website twitter to extend his wishes to all Hindu citizen on the occasion of Diwali. -DNA
