The PTI chairman has been very rightly pointing out in his speeches that a majority of children in his country have a stunted growth because they are not getting a proper diet owing to poverty. He would do well if , in the first instance, he introduces supply of a bottle of milk with two cookies per school children of all the government schools up to middle level during the school hours in their class rooms daily. The only thing which will have to be ensured is that the quality of milk is in accordance with the prescribed hygienic standards. This single step would amount to direct assistance to the poor school going children for whom milk cannot be purchased by their parents due to their abject penury.
The common man is simply aghast at the snail’s pace at which the NAB and the NAB courts have been investigating and trying the high profile corruption cases . He is also not satisfied over the manner in which the prosecution branch of the NAB as well as investigating agencies like the IB, the FIA etc etc have been conducting the investigation against the filthy rich who have been living beyond their means and who have amassed wealth disproportionate to their known income. He is afraid that these cases might suffer the same fate which the cases against Zardari suffered against whom even after spending 11 long years the investigating agencies could not reach at a definite conclusion. Small wonder the NAB has been getting a lot of flak, lately, over the inordinate delay in the satisfactory completion of corruption cases and its minions are finding it hard to defend their position. Needless to say that justice delayed is justice denied.
