Nation is grieved over recent shahadat of valiant sons in Shawaal valley where the final phase of Zarb-e-Azb is accelerating with great momentum. COAS, recently delivered a loud message about this important segment of highly challenging war against terrorism .Military operation against terrorism surfaced as a ray of hope and rapidly denied breathing space to militants. While acknowledging the great sacrifices and successes of the operation, we should not lose sight about the unaddressed short comings. Definitely Zarb-e-Azab has largely confined terrorism but even half hearted implementation of ‘National Action Plan’ is not visible anywhere. This tendency may compromise the priceless gains of Zarb-e-Azab. Many serious questions arise in the minds of common citizens. If we ,as a nation, are in state of war then why a an alarming negligence does prevail about NAP? When do the political leadership would substitute words with solid practical steps? Space has shrunk for terrorists but it is not yet fully denied. They do exist and quite capable to hit the targets of their own choice. Our negligence on ‘NAP’ indirectly helps them in exploiting the situation. Tough resistance against the final phase of Zarb-e-Azab in Shawaal area clearly indicates the severity of situation. While being at run, terrorists are costing us precious lives of security personnel and innocent citizens. No insurgency or armed resistance ,against a state can survive without foreign support. This principle precisely fits to our case. An armed resistance against a professional, well trained and battle hardened army clearly proves existence of enormous terrorist support chain. At internal front, terrorists do enjoy support of likeminded facilitators. On external front, they have safe havens in Afghanistan. It is not only a matter of ideology. One can easily assess that billions of dollars are being spent on this insurgency to generate a massive instability in Pakistan. Terrorists are well equipped, properly trained and undeniably well paid as well. This alarming situation gives birth to serious questions. Who is pumping enormous financial resources to destabilize Pakistan? Who can possibly do this? Afghan SIMS are being frequently used in KPK in extortion cases, What does this indicate? As a result of Zarb-e- Azb, why did top wanted TTP terrorists escaped to Afghanistan? Under these circumstances how should we interpret RAW-NDS nexus and American influence on Afghan unity government? Above all , a much serious question permanently bothering the minds is that for how long the nation can rely only on army operation while having the civilian establishment in a state of deep sleep on NAP?
