There are some issues which require priority attention of powers that be. Foremost is the fencing of Pak-Afghan border which has been going on at a satisfactory pace up till now. Once completed it is going to relieve us from a big headache. CPEC is another gigantic project which is going to turn our economy round after Gwadar becomes fully operational. For obvious reasons, both these projects are a sore in the eyes of our enemies. They would continue in their machination to destabilise this country so as to torpedo these projects. In order to foil their evil designs, the rulers would have to be on extra guard.
It is a pity that instead of appreciating our efforts to control the Pak-Afghan border, the Afghan government has been trying to create obstacles for us in the early completion of fencing of border, not realising that this fencing would help Afghanistan as much as it would help us. Insiders say that in their heart of hearts both New Delhi and Washington do not look at the fencing of Durand Line with the approving eyes because they wanted unfettered movement for their agents through whom they indulge in acts of sabotage in Pakistan. They are also not happy over the coming up of Gwadar international seaport which is not going to prove a bonanza for China but is going to usher in an era of economic prosperity in Pakistan too. They are using Afghan rulers who are their stooges to create problems for Pakistan in the execution of these projects.
The PM would be well advised to spend at least three to four days in Balochistan every month and develop personal rapport with cross section of people belonging to every shade of opinion and go the whole hog in making the Baloch political mavericks come down from the hill tops and join the mainstream politics.
