NHT delegation meets Uzbek Ambassador in Islamabad


ISLAMABAD, January 24: Uzbekistan Ambassador to Pakistan, Furqat A. Sidiqov has said Pakistan and Uzbekistan have identical history, culture and traditions. He said that there are ample opportunities for promoting relations between the two countries. He expressed these views while talking to English Daily National Herald Tribune (NHT) delegation being published simultaneously from Islamabad and Lahore. Head of International Affairs, NHT, Col(R) Khalid Taimur Akram, Group Editor, Riaz Ahmed and Chief News Editor, Saleem Rais were present during the meeting It is to mention here that NHT delegation visited the Uzbek Embassy in Islamabad on Wednesday. Mr. Jasur Saidahmedov, Third Secretary of the Embassy was also present during the meeting.
Ambassador added that I am very happy to mention that Urdu Language and Uzbek Language have some identical words. He said that print media can play a pivotal role in promoting economic, cultural ties between the two countries. He thanked the NHT management and particularly the Editor-in-Chief Ghulam Akbar who has reserved pages in his newspaper for covering the news on Central Asian States.
On this occasion, the Head of NHT delegation, Col(R ) Khalid Taimur Akram has lauded the efforts of Uzbek Ambassador for promoting the relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan and hoped that he would continue his efforts in future too.
