LORALAI, January 29: Nine including three policemen were martyred when attackers attempted to enter the DIG police compound in Loralai, Balochistan on Tuesday afternoon, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release.
According to the ISPR, three armed suicide bombers tried to enter the DIG police compound Loralai. About 800 candidates were present in the compound for enrolment in Balochistan police. The police on duty responded and shot of the three suicide bombers at the entry of DIG complex who detonated his suicide jacket. The remaining two attackers started indiscriminate firing and got into one side of the room.
Nine people including three policemen, five civil employees of police and 1 civilian candidate were martyred while 21 were injured. The injured include 12 policemen and nine civilian candidates.
FC Balochistan and Army troops were called in. Around 800 candidates were safely evacuated by troops. During the clearance operation, the remaining two suicide bombers were shot dead and the area was cleared.
The injured have been shifted to CMH Quetta on Army helicopters.-Agencies
