One can understand Modi’s election strategy. He is gradually building on his Pak-bashing hype which had paid him in the last general elections. He, in his own wisdom, thinks that this time round that strategy would again enable him to carry the day. Elections are now not much far away in India .Odds are that he might not be able to regain all those seats which he won in the last polls as his closest rival Raul Gandhi has, lately, made big inroads in the Indian politics and he is certainly going to be a force to be reckoned with. The Congress party of India, the political analysts believe, is going to fare better than its performance in the last polls. Modi’s policies has turned India into a maniac state. He and his party has whipped up anti-Muslim frenzy to such an extent that the secular image of India which its past rulers so assiduously tried to build in the world has been completely washed away. India is now not in a position to pull the wool over the world’s eyes that it is a secular state. Nobody is going to buy wishy-washy words of its leaders in this respect any longer.
Who masterminded attack on the Indian army personnel in the occupied valley recently is anybody’s guess. Involvement of Washington too cannot be ruled out in that episode for obvious reasons. The CPEC is getting on the nerves of Trump.
Washington simply cannot tolerate even the very thought of China upstaging it the world economy and becoming biggest economy of the world in the next ten years. It knows that if India and Pakistan come on a collision course that can upset the Applecart of CPEC.
POSTSCRIPT: Pakistan must not allow its relations with Iran to deteriorate .The Foreign minister must keep himself in close touch with his Iranian counterpart for removing any misgivings which Tehran might have about us.
