There should be only one state army for the protection of geographical frontiers of the country .If political or religious groups are also allowed to have their militant wings then God be with that country.Zardari has coined the word non-state actors for such militant bodies and it has gained a currency in the political jargon of the country.Experience of hindsight tells us that such militant groups, more often than not, become Frankenstein monsters for their creators. It then becomes difficult to tame them.
There are two Muslim countries of the Middle East who are at daggers drawn over sectarian issues since long.It is in the evidence that they have been bankrolling the adherents of their respective sects in this country under various pretexts. No ruler in this country has ever asked them not to send money to their blue-eyed boys in this country on the sly.If they want to help them monetarily in the educational field to any seminary in this country they had better transfer the money through official channels so that the government is in the know of the exact amount of money received by them and how much was used by them for the purpose for which it was received.Chances of its misuse like purchase of weaponry or publication of hate material in that case can be checkmated.Whenever sectarian clashes had occurred in this country modern sophisticated weaponry had been used in them. The question is:How come the combatants managed to buy them ?
While the use of these non-state actors as mercenaries might provide short term benefits to their users,in the long run, these very armed groups become a liability for them.
