Experts opine that the ongoing Afghan peace process has not yet taken the shape of a comprehensive peace talks. The major mile stone would be a constructive and mutually agreed Intra – Afghan dialogue. The US Central command( CENTCOM) ,General Kenneth McKenzie Jr recently visited Pakistan ,which shows the importance of Pakistan’s role in the future peace talks of Afghanistan. However, without taking into account the overall security environment of the region, peace and stability could not be achieved in isolation. Some leaders of the major countries like India are still battling for achieving their personal goals at the cost of jeopardizing the national interests and putting at risk the over all security environment of the region. The deteriorating situation of the region is quite worrisome ,needing due attention of the world community.
In the wake of the Pulwama attack, India launched a major diplomatic offensive against Pakistan which compulsively diverted her efforts and attention from addressing the Afghan peace process towards Indian aggression. Despite all odds, Pakistan contributed her positive and constructive efforts for the resolution of Afghan conflict and same has been highly appreciated by the US special envoy, Zalmay Khalilzad and major countries of the world community. The Current status of the Afghan peace process is the testimony of Pakistan’s sincerity for a peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan.
Whereas, India kept on adding fuel and exploiting all her false claims against Pakistan by holding a briefing for envoys of 25 countries, including those from the five permanent UNSC members the United States, China, Russia, the United Kingdom and France. The purpose was to defame Pakistan. Experts opine that Modi’s government tried her best to entice the voters for winning the India’s general election by prompting national security and terrorism as the hottest issues of India. In this context, India is still orchestrating her efforts to malign Pakistan. On the other hand, USA is pursuing its interests by assigning India the role of policeman for effective meddling in South Asia. As India has been blaming Pakistan without evidence for the Pulwama attack and holding China responsible for blocking efforts to list JeM chief, Masood Azhar, as a terrorist ; without proof at the UN’s forum.
China has rightly maintained the stance that US move is not at all conducive for maintaining peace in South Asia. Chinese government has rightly criticized the US for directly taking the issue of listing Azhar as global terrorists to UN Security Council after it had put a technical hold on the US, UK and French resolution earlier to declare him a global terrorist. It is only complicating the issue and not conducive to peace and stability in South Asia.
India holds no evidence linking any involvement of JeM in the terror attack of Pulwama and the deteriorating situation in Jammu and Kashmir. World community must realize now that the Kashmiri resistance against the Indian atrocities is indigenously propelled. Kashmiris have the legal right for struggling and attaining freedom from Indian oppression under the UN’s charter of self determination. Experts opine that if India succeeds in having both JeM and its leader blacklisted, Pakistan could be branded as a State sponsor of terrorism and isolated at international arena which is the obvious agenda of India. Indian aggressive diplomatic approaches against Pakistan is effectively tackled by Pakistan through presenting the true picture of every situation. Even in case of Indian recent aggression against Pakistan, the international media as well as the diplomatic community were shown the ground evidences. Whereas the Indian government is not only fooling her own public but the international audience too. For the better security and peace environment in the region, there is a dire need that the international community and within the Indian influential quarters must suggest the new elected Indian to reshape her foreign policies according to the new realities, rather than improvising the oppressing techniques from the champions of oppressors. Blaming China and Pakistan for the terrorist attack will arouse Indians’ anxieties over neighbouring countries.
