It is morally wrong on the part of Jehangir Tareen to be attending cabinet meetings or indulging in political matters once he was declared by the apex court to be unfit for life to practise politics. Those who are allowing him to violate Supreme Court order in this respect must also share this blame equally with him. Unfortunately, the standard of politics in this country has hit rock bottom. There is no such thing as ethics in politics in parliament or outside it. It is a no-holds barred like situation whether they are government or the opposition benches. One witnesses pandemonium almost daily on the floor of the House whether it is National Assembly or the provincial assemblies. Tolerance to hear one other’s point view is simply non-existent. The so-called representatives of the people trade insult against one another, they don’t mind using four-letter words against one another ,they tear official papers and throw their pieces towards the speaker’s desk It is their good luck that they stop short of breaking each other’s skull.
By indulging in unparliamentary language against one another on the floor of the House as well on all public platforms which type of signal are they sending to the nation, particularly to the youth of the country?
The workers of a political party who are the mainstay of every political party, follow in the footsteps of their leaders. The good or bad habits of the leaders rub off on them. The derogatory remarks passed by the workers against their political adversaries are a reflection of the filthy language often indulged into by their leaders against their counterparts of the political parties at odds with them. Every political leader must therefore, make it a point not to indulge in use of dirty language against his political. adversary.
