KARACHI, May 20: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on Monday strongly stated that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan ‘is not ready to give an NRO to plunderers of state’s resources.
He spoke to the media in Karachi, and warned the opposition parties that they might lose likelihood of bails as well. Rasheed said all thieves have gathered under a roof to defend their corruption.
His statement comes in reaction to the formation of joint alliance of the opposition parties, during iftar dinner at Zardari House for launching protest movement against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led federal government after eid.
He expressed confidence that the country would recover from the current economic crisis under the leadership of PM Khan.
Referring to the crises, he contended that the crises would affect opposition more than the government.
Holding former rulers responsible for the inflation, the minister said the incumbent government was compelled to take hard decisions for the revival of the economy.
“Masses are suffering due to wrongdoings of the past regimes”, Rasheed said, adding that he hoped the situation would improve in the next three to four months.
The federal minister said that Karachi circular Railway project will be completed under China Pakistan Economic Corridor Project.
He further stated that it has been decided that forty five kilometer route of Karachi Circular railway will be vacated in fifteen days per orders of Supreme Court.
Sheikh Rasheed noted that the federal government is extending cooperation with Sindh government in Revival of Karachi circular railway project.
He further mentioned that steps are being taken by government to control price hike and overcome unemployment from the country.
To a question, the minister said opposition parties have united at one platform only to seek NRO but Prime Minister Imran Khan has already stated categorically that nobody will be given NRO.
He said after outbreak of HIV cases in Sindh provincial health minister should resign. Criticizing Sindh government he said it has given nothing except AIDS to the people of Sindh. -DNA
