Imran Khan is lucky and unlucky at the same time. He is lucky because the opposition leaders who are ganging up against him do not inspire much public confidence because of their poor track record while they were in the saddle. Almost all of them have been in power, some of them more than once. They stood thoroughly tested by the electorate. The common man knows them inside out. Imran is unlucky in the sense that he doesn’t have a team of competent persons who could hold the forte on their own and deliver in the various fields of life.
It is a remote possibility that the political alliance which the opposition leaders are talking about would be able to cause any dent in the government. The man in the street is politically much conscious today. He is in no mood to take to the street and upset the Applecart of the government at this point in time. He wants to give some break to the present rulers to make good promises made by them at the hustlings in 2018. He also realises how costly is the election exercise and how much does it cost to the taxpayers’ money? He also understands the financial constraints being faced by the country.
The politicians who have joined their heads against Imran Khan have nothing common in them except jealousy of Imran Khan .They disapprove of his determination to get the financially corrupt rooted out from the political culture of the country. The PTI chief is pitted against heavy odds.
The political analysts are of the view that the opposition leaders who attended Bilawal’s Iftar dinner recently took a hasty decision that they would launch a movement against the present government after Eid ul fitr.
