This is not the first time we have gone to the IMF. We had gone to it 20 times before also. It is also not the first time that we have borrowed the services of leading officials of the international financial institutions. Didn’t we utilise the services of persons like Shoaib, Shamshad Akthar, Moeen Qureshi and Sartaj Aziz in our Finance department in the past ?It is, therefore, ridiculous if somebody faults the present rulers on this score.

How can our economy find its feet when our imports are to the tune of 60 billion dollars whereas our exports amount to only 22 billion dollars.
One remembers the former finance minister saying on the eve of his departure to Bali a couple of months back that the government has plugged deficit. If that was the position how come we knocked the door of the IMF then?
POSTSCRIPT :To win the World Cup this time round would not be an easy task . Our boys would have to work hard. Their fielding leaves much to be desired . It is said catches win watches.
