ISLAMABAD, June 8: Prime Minister Imran Khan has strongly condemned the North Waziristan blast in which four Army personnel were martyred on Friday.
At least four Pakistan Army personnel were martyred and four others were injured during a blast caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) in Kharkamar, North Waziristan.
Prime Minister Imran Khan acknowledged the sacrifices of the soldiers and said their bravery kept the nation safe.
“Deeply saddened to learn of the shahadat of three officers and one soldier from a terrorist-planted IED blast in Kharkamar, N.Waziristan. My condolences to the families of the Shuhada and prayers for recovery of the injured,” the prime minister said on Twitter.
He added, “I salute the sacrifices and bravery of our soldiers in keeping us safe. The whole nation stands behind them.”
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan has given directions to turn Nathiagali, Ayubia and Galyat into major tourists’ centers.
According to details, PM Imran Khan after spending his Eid in Nathiagali, decided to promote tourism in the mountainous regions while further instructing to conduct a survey to find out more attractive spots in Galyat.
He asked concerned authorities to build three-star hotels, food streets, cinema, chair lifts, and new parking areas.
The new construction will be done in collaboration with the private sector.
Following the premier’s order, the provincial ministers have started to explore new places for tourists in the area.
It is worth mentioning that due to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s tourism policies, Skardu has become the center of tourists’ attraction.
As the tourism promotion is among the preferences of the government, the sector is steadily reviving especially in the most Northern area of the country, Skardu.
Lately, a large number of foreign tourists have crowded the world’s highest altitude airport of Skardu.
In 2019 so far, more than 50,000 tourists have come to visit the Skardu in Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
Prime Minister Imran Khan also saidon Saturday that provision of basic facilities to the people of newly merged areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is top priority of the government. He said government would try to cut its expenditures for the development of ex-FATA.
He was talking to Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan who called on him in Islamabad today (Saturday). He said the government is also giving special focus on the provision of basic facilities to less developed areas of Balochistan. He said many people of these areas have sacrificed for the prosperity of country, adding that government would try to create job opportunities for the people of less developed region.-Agencies/DNA
