ISLAMABAD, June 9: Punjab Bar Council and lawyers’ action committee has asked Pakistan Bar Council to withdraw a call of protest on June 14. The lawyers’ forums said they would not be a part of any protest.
As per details, a meeting of lawyers’ organizations was held under lawyers’ action committee which was also attended by Punjab Bar Council. The lawyers’ action committee demanded to withdraw call of protest and submitted a joint resolution. The lawyers said all innocent judges should be exonerated with honour.
The leaders of lawyers’ action committee said their purpose is unbridled accountability for all, adding that sanctity of institutions is more important than specific persons.
They said the constitution provides way for accountability of any judge through Supreme Judicial Council. They said the reference against Justice Faiz Esa is in front of us and it would vanish if allegations are wrong. They said it is difficult to understand the call of protest prior to the hearing of case.-Agencies
