Production order issued for the ongoing budget session expected to last till June 29
ISLAMABAD, June 19: National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar issued production order of former president Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday, confirmed former opposition leader Khurshid Shah.
The Pakistan Peoples Party leader was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the fake bank accounts case on June 10 after Islamabad High Court rejected his plea, seeking an extension in their interim bail in the fake bank accounts case. The case pertains to transactions worth hundreds of millions of rupees to the two leaders’ private companies, allegedly, through fake bank accounts.
Shah said that the production order was issued for the ongoing budget session expected to last till June 29. “Zardari will be present in the assembly tomorrow (Thursday),” he said. “Better late then never.”
The PPP leaders – Abdul Qadir Patel, Shazia Marri, Shagufta Jumani, Agha Rafiq – have received the copy of production order.-Agencies
