In ex-Fata elections, most of opposition parties have been defeated and PPP and the PML-N could not get a single seat, whereas PTI and its allies (independent candidates) secured 9 seats out of 16 seats. Accountability Mafia and desperate efforts by Maryam Nawaz scandalizing judiciary through videos has totally backfired. PML-N has suffered one humiliation after the other, and stands divided today. Discredited and corrupt leaders like Mehmood Khan Achakzai and Mir Hasil Bizenjo are providing crutches to Maryam and her desperate attempt to get some support from them in Quetta indicates that PML-N has no standing in Punjab. Meanwhile, Politico-military leaderships visit to the US has opened a new chapter in relations between the two countries, which will have salutary on economy. The proud people of Balochistan under the present government are looking forward to the dawn of prosperity, peace and development.
Opposition parties including PPP and PML-N have nominated Mir Hasil Bizenjo for the slot of chairmanship of the Senate, and it is hoped that they will fail. It is obvious that corruption-tainted politicians are supporting their ilk – Mir Hasil Bizenjo who is on NAB’s radar, and will be investigated. In April 2018, during proceedings in the case in Accountability court against former prime minister Nawaz Shar, Mehmood Khan Achakzai and and Mir Hasil Bizenjo were present. Pointing towards them, he said that “they are our ideological friends and such friendship is not easy to break”. And their ideology is to illegally amass wealth and denigrate the security institutions. Both of them have been badmouthing military, judiciary and other institutions of the country. It is in this backdrop that people of tribal districts have rejected the corruption-tainted politicians in the recent elections.
On 30th October 2018, the Morning Mail of UK had carried news that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) detected undisclosed expensive property worth billions of rupees belonging to former Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Malik Baloch and Senator Hasil Bizenjo. “Documents obtained through NAB sources reveal that both the top politicians were owners of costly land located in six districts of the Punjab purchased in the names of their children. The districts include Sahiwal, Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Toba Tek Singh and Vehari, it stated. Reportedly, expensive property had been purchased during the tenure of CM Abdul Malik, and Hasil Bizenjo was federal minister of ports and shipping. Sources stated the purchased property consisted of residential colonies, commercial markets, and agriculture farms in the above districts of Punjab.
The persons who are the owners of these properties include Hasil Khan son of Ghous Bux Bizenjo, Mehtab son of Muhammad Murad, Shahdaz Khan son of Hasil Bizenjo, Muhammad Yousif son of Muhammad Murad, Muhammad Murad son of Mardan, and others. On 20th December 2018, Senator Hasil Bizenjo had moved a privilege motion in the Senate, complaining of a media trial against him and his family by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). Speaking in the Senate, the National Party (NP) leader said the media had reported NAB as alleging that he and former chief minister Abdul Malik had acquired property worth billions of rupees in Punjab. He said the names of his family members, including wife, daughter and nephews, were mentioned in the statement of NAB issued to the media, which had damaged the reputation of his family.
It is indeed matter of shame that as Minister for Shipping and Ports in 2015 during Nawaz government and latter in Shahid Khan Abbasi’s cabinet, he indulged in huge financial corruption and is being probed by the NAB. He was two-time member of the national assembly; two times Senator, and beneficiary of Younus Habib Scandal and received Rs. 500000 when IJI was formed. It is obvious that Mir Hasil Bizenjo is ideological friend of Nawaz Sharif, as the latter had also received a huge amount for formation of the IJI to put PPP on the mat. It is strange that the PPP is supporting Mir Hasil Bizenjo who is PML-N’s nominee for the chairmanship of the Senate, and poised to bring down Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, who was PPP’s nominee in the previous Senate election.
