The patience of common man is wearing thin. The price spiral in items of daily use has broken his back. If he is not taking to the streets it is only because he feels that public unrest at this point in time would be to the liking of the two main opposition political parties only which are primarily responsible for the economic mess they have landed this country into during the past ten years or so. He is between the devil and blue sea.
India continues to shilly- shally over the solution of the occupied valley of Kashmir. Politically shrewd and cunning as they are,the Hindus under a well thought-out plan are gradually converting the muslim majority living there into a minority by encouraging more and more Hindu settlements there. It is a long term plan and till its fruition New Delhi intends to prolong the solution of the issue by not coming to the table talks on one pretext or the other. A high level of diplomatic skill would be needed to make India ready for a plebiscite in the occupied valley.
The Indian soldiers have been hitting the eyes and the face of the Kashmiri youth with gun pellets which has caused blindness in umpteen cases and what a pity that no Muslim country has raised even a tiny finger over it. Such callousness on the part of the Muslim brethren has further emboldened New Delhi. It has proved ,if any proof is required that in today’s materialistic world what matters is money and the trade and bilateral trade links between the countries. Religous harmony and justice have been pushed to the back burner.
