- Says Indian Army martyrs 3 Pak Army soldiers to divert attention from IoK
RAWALPINDI, August 15: In a bid to divert the word’s attention from the “precarious situation” in Occupied Kashmir, Indian troops martyred three Pakistan Army soldiers along Line of Control (LoC), and in retaliation five Indian personnel got killed, said the military’s media wing.
Pakistan Army responded effectively to the attack and killed five Indian soldiers and inured many others.
“5 Indian soldiers killed, many injured, bunkers damaged. Intermittent exchange of fire continues,” ISPR added.
Separately, two civilians were martyred and one injured by the Indian troops along the LoC in Rawalakot district, a senior local official there told AFP.
The official, Mirza Arshad Jarral, said intermittent exchanges of fire between the two militaries had been going on since morning.
The Indian ceasefire violation comes as IOK has been under curfew and unrest after Modi-led government earlier this month stripped the disputed region of its semi-autonomous status by revoking Article 370 of the Indian constitution, paving the way for outsiders to buy land and settle in the occupied valley.
On Monday, Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that India is trying to shift global attention from its illegal Kashmir move to the LoC and Pakistan.-Agenc ies
