Kyrgyzstan intends to join WorldSkills Eurasia movement, the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science reported.
Within the framework of the 45th World Professional Skills Championships on WorldSkills standards, which was held for the first time in the Russian Federation in Kazan, the delegation of Kyrgyzstan held talks with WORLDSKILLS RUSSIA representatives.
At the meeting the Roadmap for Kyrgyzstan’s entry into the WorldSkills Eurasia movement was discussed, which now unites the countries-initiators: Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kaza khstan.
The countries discussed the need for joint systemic work to ensure the economic growth of Eurasian countries, including the digital economy. According to Kyrgyz delegation head, Deputy Minister of Education Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov, WORLDSKILLS standards are recognized by 70 countries.
“Kyrgyzstan’s Education Ministry has already started to bring professional and educational standards in line with WORLDSKILLS standards. The National Qualifications System has been developed and submitted for public discussion,” he said.
In addition, on the margins of the championship, Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov met with State Secretary of the Russian Ministry of Education Pavel Zenkovich to discuss development and interaction of education systems of Kyrgyzstan and Russia. An agreement was also reached to work out the issue of including Kyrgyzstan in the WORLDSKILLS RUSSIA movement.
Every two years WorldSkills hosts the world skills competition which attracts more than 1,300 Competitors from more than 60 countries. At this event, young people from all corners of the globe gather together for the chance to win a prestigious medal in their chosen skill. There are competitions in 56 skills across a wide range of industries- form joinery to floristry; hairdressing to electronics; and autobody repair to bakery.
The Competition took place in Kazan, Tatartsan (Russia) on Aug. 22-27, and it has brought together 1, 357 young professionals representing 6 countries and regions.
