The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have announced to stage a festival match in Muzaffarabad on the occasion of 54th Defence Day of Pakistan [September 6]. Players of Kashmir including Aqib Liaqat, Hassan Raza, Naveed Malik, and Raja Farhan will be accompanied by national players. Sarfraz Ahmed will lead the PCB Chairman’s XI while right-handed batsman Azhar Ali will take charge of AJK Prime Minister’s XI.
According to the PCB, the match is the part of their aim to promote cricket in every nook and corner of Pakistan. The event will be a festival which will encourage new audiences and young cricketers.
Earlier, the PCB also decided to give the hosting rights of few matches during Quaid-e-Azam Trophy season 2019-2020 to Quetta’s Bugti Stadium. The motive behind the step is to revive cricket activities in the region.
