Countdown to the D-Day-the Defining Hour— the 6th of September has begun.
The Indian Generals have decided to teach the Pak Army a befitting lesson. The plan to capture the City of Lahore—the heart of Pakistan— in a swift breathlessly unstoppable blitz has been finalised.
General Chaudhri intends to celebrate his victory in the evening of the 6th of September in Lahore Gymkhana.
He is already drunk.
Wants to get more drunk in the hours to come.
There is only one flaw in the plans of Indian leaders. They don’t know that Pak Army is manned by the likes of Major Shafqat Baloch and Major Aziz Bhatti— and that Pak Air Force has master-achievers like M.M. Alam (Squadron Leader at this point of time).
As editor of the country’s second biggest newspaper, Kohistan, I had experienced the thrill of those historic days from a close distance.
In December the same year I had interviewed M.M. Alam at Sargodha Airbase.
This picture I am attaching here, makes me remember every passion that went into that War in the Defense of Pakistan…..
