Many developmental projects are victims of delay and if work on them , particularly those which concern CPEC wasn’t expedited, the loss would be not of China but ours. The Orange train has not yet become functional. The metro bus system between Kashmir Highway and new Islamabad airport, to mention a few, is still incomplete. There should always be continuity in ongoing schemes inherited by the new government from the previous one because if they are discarded or work on them is held up only because they were initiated by the previous government belonging to some other party, the taxpayers’ money already spent on them goes down the drain.
Had Dr Tahirul Qadri concentrated only on academic work instead of dabbling in politics it would have been better because , unfortunately, politics in this country is still a dirty game . One wonders whether the political party which he had set up and, which , to all intents and purposes, is a one-man party like Sheikh Rashid’s party which he often refers to as a one-man brigade, would survive once he severs his connection with it.
Dr Tahirul Qadri has been giving too much time to his research work which involved extensive travelling of foreign lands where he has set up his religious institutions and he could not give even 20 percent time to his political party back home which is a full-time job also and that was the main reason that he often worked in fits and starts as a result of which his political party couldn’t flourish much. His prolonged absence from his country damaged his political party beyond repairs so in a way it was sensible on his part to call it a day and leave the affairs of his political party in the hands of a supreme council.
