ISLAMABAD, September 26: The United Nations and UAE have offered assistance to more than 10,000 people affected by earthquake in Azad Kashmir and adjoining areas in the eastern Punjab province.
Ambassador of United Arab Emirates Hamad Obaid Alzaabi, under the directions from Abu Dhabi, has contacted the Pakistan authorities to extend support for the quake-hit areas.
In his Twitter message, the UAE ambassador announced that his government had directed him to get in touch with the Pakistan authorities and get full details.
The ambassador said that they were currently assessing the needs with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) of Pakistan and once the details are gathered, UAE will then immediately provide relief assistance.
It may be mentioned here that UAE has always stood by Pakistan at difficult times. Relationship between the two brotherly countries is strengthening with the each passing day.-DNA
