Kashif Abbasi has once again gone into the balancing act. He wants himself to be seen as a democratic purist rather than a patriotic Pakistani. There is no denying his honesty but he should have been born in Norway..Certainly not in China. Not even in Trump’s America.

My dear Kashif I admire your love of democracy but are you a greater Democrat than Jinnah ra? Do you know what was the first act of the Quaid after taking power? He dismissed the democratically elected govt of Dr Khan in NWFP. Pakistan’s interests were supreme.

If there hadn’t been a decade of Ayub’s authoritarian rule & progress, Pakistan would probably have been among the most backward countries of the world. I plead guilty of have been swept off my feet by the thrill of Democratic war songs. Because of me Pakistan was pushed so far back.

The rule of the people & by the people is a Utopian idea which has nothing to do with ground realities. Only ruling classes have ruled. When the rule has been FOR the people, there have been acts of public good and there has been social justice. People ruled only once for 4decades.
