A lot of confusion exists in the country as to the political events which are going to unfold in the days to come. Some of the political allies of the government are blowing hot and cold in the same breath. For instance Chaudri Shujaat Hussain is all praise for the political acumen shown by the PM while granting permission to Nawaz Sharif to go abroad for medical treatment, Chaudri Pervez Elahi has been talking tongue in cheek about the PTI. In the same manner, while Khawaja Izhar ul Hasan of the MQM says it would be difficult for the present government to survive till next annual budget, his colleague Khalid Maqbool says MQM won’t desert PTI in its hour of crisis.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman says the recent sit-in has shaken the foundations of the government’s allies to the core and the country is going to have a new PM in the next year. Bilawal is optimistic that the next PM would belong to his party. So on and so forth.
Such wild guess is due to dependence of the ruling party in Islamabad over some splinter political groups for forming the government as in the last general election it could not gain numerical strength to form government on its own and, therefore, it had to form alliances with some political parties for the purpose. A Coalition government is always a weak government and it needs goodwill of its political partners to remain in the saddle. This is the precise reason why many well wishers of the PM are of the view that the PM had better dissolve parliament and seek a fresh mandate from the people asking them that in case they want himto implement his agenda hook, line and sinker they should vote for his party overwhelmingly so that he has two-thirds majority in parliament and could carry out his reform agenda without any let and hindrance.
