LONDON, December 4: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has claimed that there was an alliance between the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the government of Prime Minister Imran Khan and the same “NAB-Niazi nexus” was behind freezing his immovable assets. Addressing a news conference
in London on Wednesday, he said the government had resorted to such vindictive moves to avoid humiliation of its failure and divert attention from its incompetence. The PML-N president said that he had never seen a bigger liar than PM Imran in his life. “Imran Niazi is an ungrateful and hateful individual … his [Imran Khan’s] government sowed the seeds of fissure but despite that we [opposition parties] stand united.” The press conference comes a day after the anti-corruption watchdog moved to freeze 23 properties belonging to him and his family members. The opposition leader in the National Assembly and his family is being investigated for ‘possessing’ assets beyond means, as well as money laundering. Agencies
